Uma Obscura has dived back into the 90’s alternative scene in Umeå and this year we present the exhibition from the Monochrome club. One of the bands who played at this club became local legends, namely Red Butt Closeup! They have not been seen for a decade but now we can disclose that the original line up will reunite for an exclusive performance at Uma Obscura 2024!

Red Butt Closeup is like a bad hangover from -96. One of those when you can´t remember how you got there, but it tastes like caroseen and someone stole your wallet! Like a boyband withuot choreographer, producer or manager but with over weight, a smoked in homestudio and rubber chickens. Unresponsible distorted disco, ecstatic EBM and some ironic industrial!

Under årets Uma Obscura blickar vi tillbaka till 90-talets alternativscen i Umeå och bjuder bland annat på en utställning från den gamla Monochrome-klubben. Ett av banden som spelade där blev något av lokala legender: Red Butt Closeup. De har inte synts på en scen på över 10 år men nu kommer originalmedlemmarna återförenas för ett exklusivt framträdande under årets Uma Obscura!

Red Butt Closeup är som en dålig bakfylla från -96. En sån där du inte kommer ihåg hur du hamnade här, men det smakar fotogen och någon har snott din plånbok! Som ett pojkband som saknar koreograf, producent och manager men med övervikt, inrökt hemstudio och gummihönor. Oansvarigt distad disco, slamrig synth och ironisk industri!
