From a different perspective

This photography project features Umeå and shows this beautiful city in the North of Sweden from a perspective that is usually not seen in everyday life.
The pictures show well-known places in town, but the model is dressed in latex design, which transforms the usual perception of the urban landscape. The pictures remind sometimes of a science fiction world and sometimes of a fairy tale.
The pictures also tell a story about latex. In popular culture, latex fashion has been used by various artists in, for example, the production of music videos, but latex is also known as a fetish, which for many people still is a topic that is difficult to talk about.
Perhaps the pictures of this project create an opportunity to talk about latex as a fetish without feeling uncomfortable. However, there is no need to think of fetishism when viewing these pictures. One can just enjoy them as examples of a way to view a city from a different perspective.
All work in this project was made by Thomas Kieselbach, who is an enthusiastic amateur photographer and, for instance, contributed to the documentation of various cultural events in Umeå, such as Kulturnatta.

Ur ett annorlunda perspektiv

Detta bildprojekt handlar om Umeå och visar denna vackra stad ur ett perspektiv som vanligen inte syns i vardagslivet.
På bilderna ser man kända platser på stan, men modellen är klädd i latexdesign, vilket transformerar den vanliga stadsbilden. Känslan i bilderna påminner ibland om en futuristisk värld och ibland om en saga.
Bilderna är också en berättelse om latex. Inom populärkulturen har latexmode används av olika artister vid t.ex. produktionen av musikvideor och i film, i kostymer för karaktärer men också i modevärlden, men latex är också känd som en fetisch, som många fortfarande har svårt att tala om.
Kanske kan bilderna i detta projekt skapa en möjlighet för att kunna tala om latex som en fetisch utan att det känns obekvämt. Men, man behöver inte alls tänka på fetischism när man tittar på bilderna utan det går alldeles utmärkt att se bilderna som ett exempel på att se en stad ur ett annorlunda perspektiv.
Allt arbete i detta projekt gjordes av Thomas Kieselbach som är entusiastisk fotograf, som även bland annat bidragit till dokumentationen av olika kulturella event i Umeå som t.ex. Kulturnatta.
