It is time! We give you the first part of the program for Uma Obscura – autumn 2018. It is red, the blood moon of autumn.
This edition of Uma Obscura – October 12-13 – will focus a lot more on clubs, performance, art and dance. We start with presenting a lineup of artists, performance and dance acts.
From Germany we give you dance and performance artists Ida & Maxx who will bring a performance evolving the music and philosophical questions raised in Masamune Shirow’s „Ghost in the Shell“.
From Denmark we welcome back dancer Dud Muurmand to Uma Obscura with her theatric tribal fusion.
We will have HÖSTBLOT with krAa fusion and friends and from Umeå we will see what Misty Moon brings to the stage.
Art Obscura is back and first out is the collaborative art duo R & R and returning resident artist and art curatorTomas Ponga.
We will also hear from the music act ”Escaped Noise”.
This is just the beginning. Lots more will follow.
We have just finished a fantastic edition of the festival and we can already disclose that Uma Obscura will return in October! Save the dates: October 12-13.

We have updated with a lot of exciting news and additions to the program. For example we will get a fashion show from FireBirdFusion, dance classes and performances with Morgana and a lot of spectacular and high class art to the Art Obscura from artists like Kai Reichwaldt, Hanna Rindeskog, Geson Rathnow, Emmalie Västman and more.

Uma Obscura 2016 is now over. We would like to thank all visitors, particpating artists, performers and our crew for a wonderful weekend! We will update the site with pictures from this year as soon as they arrive from our photographer’s editing desks.
We now look towards the future and what could better suit our dreams of future Uma Obscura-festivals than this picture of Ras Bolding and miss black & miss white to inspire us to build yet another festival lineup.
We present the Club Obscura night at Balder (22-01 on Friday October 7) with KF Sub and DJ Atreyo who will take you down the nostalgia lane.
Also lots of new artists added to the Art & The Black Market section.
A lot of artists have been released for the ”Art & The Black Market” section of Uma Obscura (presented in cooperation with KF Blackbird), among others: Elinda Creates, Kai Reichwaldt, Tomas Ponga and Tinker Tailor to name a few.
Yes it is official. The EBM act CRYO will do their first gig ever in Umeå at this year’s Uma Obscura festival. See them live on October 8 at the Umeå Folkets Hus venue.
In cooperation with the RTSI – Rätten Till Sin Identitet project (working against the discrimination of subcultures) we present an evening with some of the artists who have participated in the RTSI-campaign. We bring you, from Denmark: the subculture icon and electronic music pioneer Ras Bolding, from Finland: the industrial act Älymystö and finally from Sweden the first concert in a long time from metal band Netherbird! What a lineup for friday october 7!
Finally, tickets are out for 2016! We hereby release a limited amount of 2 day-passes for the festival, available for pre-orders to the price of 300 SEK.
We still have not released any bookings. This does not mean there are no bookings. It simply means, we are sneaky and have not yet released them! So: buy a pig in a poke and order your tickets now and you will save quite a lot compared to the one-day tickets available later. One might call this crowd-funding in a way too.
